OUR STORY
ADA came into being in April 2005, to manage the ever successful and long-running Honda Adventure Academy in South Africa. Founder, enthusiast and motorcycle guru, Heine Engelbrecht is the brainwave of the business. His training and evaluation for Mitsubishi, Land Rover, Nissan and Suzuki laid the groundwork for his shift to owner of ADA.
Since then various other partnerships to provide brand specific solutions have been created and maintained, and in 2013 it incorporated the Harley Davidson Riding Academy into its operational fold. This was a springboard for other partnerships and brand specific solutions and the catalyst to specialise in automotive events, off-road accessories and overland trips.
Heine’s sons’ passion for ATV’s (quads) and off-road motorcycles also triggered a vision for the first-of-its kind vehicle and motorcycle training academy in South Africa. ADA was born to facilitate tar or off road riding, 4×4 and rally car driving, diesel & dust events, corporate team building and African bike touring.
ADA is elevated by a TETA accreditation and we’re on form as the only academy in South Africa with a tar range for motorcycle training, a dedicated K53 range, 4×4 adventure tracks, trails and gravel skidpan. From our 11ha flagship facility and a 700ha neighbouring farm in the Cradle of Humankind, our tracks under the African sky equate to adrenaline therapy, far removed from city stress.
